Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s latest movie Television will have its world premiere at the 17th Busan Film Festival in Seoul, South Korea, said the organisers at a press conference held on Wednesday at the Topcapi restaurant Gulshan.

Television will be the closing film of the Asia's top film festival which will continue from October 4 to October 13 with participation of 304 movies from 75 countries.

Director and actors of the movie including Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, Mosharraf Karim, Tisha and Chanchal Chowdhury attended the press conference. They shared their feelings of the great achievement with press.

The movie is jointly produced by German producer Christoph Thoke, Mostafa Sarwar Farooki and Star Cineplex. Banglavision is the media partner of the movie.

Television, a satirical drama directed by Mostofa Farooki, a leading force in a new wave of Bangladeshi film-makers who lend a documentary feel to movies that explore themes like guilt and atonement in the Islamic world, reported AFP on Tuesday.

More than 90 of the films being screened in the southern South Korean city of Busan will be world premiers, the report added.

Among the world premiers is the Hong Kong police action movie Cold War that has been chosen as the festival curtain raiser.

Launched in 1996, the annual festival has developed into the largest of its kind in Asia with a focus on discovering new movies and first-time directors from across the region.
